THE PLATTONIAN Plattsmouth High School, Plattsmouth, Nebraska Editor......................Janice McKinney Assistant Editor............Nancy Bulin Business Manager............Bonnie Way Sponsor.....................Mr. Wozinak Photographers...............Harry Roberts Tim Fischer AS TIME GOES BY In gratitude for his loyal service, both to the school and student body, we, the graduating class of 1962, dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Cecil W. Comstock. Cecil W. Comstock DEDICATION 2 To the members of the Class of 1962, I sincerely hope that each of you have acquired, during your thir- teen years of educational training, true and workable knowledge, kind humility and deep wisdom. It is also my wish that the knowledge which you have received is sufficient for the accom- plishments of a satisfying vocation. It is my desire that you may have acquired a humility which will enable you to more fully recognize your place in God's world, and the discretion and judg- ment, suffiently strong and stable, to brighten your life- enriched always through the guiding endeavors of your parents, your minister and your teachers, who are work- ing ever for your personal well being. Then, building constantly on the firm foundation provided by your home, your church, and the school, you will surely climb upward toward even higher goals. SCHOOL BOARD Maxine Cloidt Secretary Ray Larson President Oscar Mussman Ray Born John Cliodt, Jr. Vice -President Les Hutchinson Harold Lebens Someone has said that there is no more searching or difficult problem for a free people than to identify, nurture, and wisely use its own talents. If this is true of a free society, think how much more vital it is to a free man! Without free in- dividuals there is no free society. Our tasks remain then, whether we are com- pleting our formal educa- tion or beginning, to identify, nurture and wisely use our talents so that the way of life which is so dear to us may be perpetuated. P.H.S. DIAPER SERVICE OOPS!! HAPPY??? COUPLE Presented to the Senior Class by Cecil W. Comstock A PARTING WISH TO THE SENIORS OF '62 Because I wish so much for you All joy that life can bring-- The mystic beauty of the snow And raindrops in the Spring, The joy of sleep, not restless night, Or agonizing pain, A cardinal's call, a robin's song, Or violets in the rain, A cheerful song upon the hearth, A knock upon the door, A friendly word, a smile of cheer, A new book to explore . . . Because these little things are all So wondrous good and true, I'm wishing at this school year’s end The finest things for you. And so I'm wishing you today And all the years ahead, Fortitude and mercy Along the paths you tread. But one cannot go boldly on, Or face each day, or stand Alone to face each problem You'd solve on every hand. You will not know the peace of heart That passeth understanding, Without His help, without the prayers Of love that's not demanding. It is the little things of life, The humble, tried and true That in the end will always bring Real happiness to you. I 76 r-—
