The Annual Staff represents a staff of reporters and newsmen. They are busy throughout the year gathering the Big Picture of the 1959-1960 school year. They go behind the scenes, bringing all the facts together for your Big Picture memories. This year several changes were made in the composition of the Annual Staff. The Staff was enlarged from thirteen to twenty. Also there was an addition of two Junior members. The purpose of this addition was to give the Annual Staff of the following year an idea of how much work was connected with the Annual. Miss'Mary Ann Lammers took the responsibility of sponsoring the Annual. 22 23 The Plattsmouth High Junior Class presented i very dramatic comedy for their annual presen- tation. The play, The Decision on Ramey Scott, presented the problems and incidents in the lives of the students of an ordinary school like ours. MARCHING BAND The marching band made many trips this summer. Among others they went to the State Fair in Lincoln, Cass County Fair in Weeping Water, Nemaha County Fair in Auburn, and the Homecoming Parade in Glenwood, Iowa. They performed at the half- time of our home football games and at the local K. K. K. This year an entirely new drill was performed at Ak-sar-ben after which they received the excellent rating 2. 33 Here we see Pat Markham, Karen Keil, and Danna Luther whose work is comparable to that of Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olson of the DAILY PLANET. ATTER RASKA, 1959 -- i960 This year under the supervision of the staff members, headed by Editor Kay Casey, and assisted by Sponsor, Cecil Comstock, the Platter has been changed from a gossip column into a cleverly-arranged piece of entertainment. The Platter is a monthly issue which is filled with jokes and amusing stunts to please the witty, while on the other hand, its convincing editorials entertain the more serious readers. Of course, this isn't all that it consists of, it includes information provid- ing news for us on such activities as football and basketball games, up- coming dances, and other details concerning the school. Indeed, we are proud of our Platter this year, and we all congratulate the staff mem- bers who work diligently in order to present the students this interest- ing paper. As a closing line, we would like to say keep up the good work! 35 SOPHOMORE CLASS Officers: Miss Rutz, Sponsor; Mike Brink, President; Constance Pfeifer, Vice President, and Karyl Davis, Secretary-Treasurer.
