'Pn ftAecct It is May 18, 1966, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe York are sitting at home in their living room. As we enter we hear that they are discussing the var- ious TV programs that are on that night. Joe rises, walks over to the TV set, and turns it on. The time is a little before 6:30 p.m. and as the pic- ture clears, we watch the end of This Is A Great?? Life! ! ! program with Dean French as Dennis, Jim Ulrich as Uncle Earl, Dan Huebner as Steve, and June Wagner as Mom. At 6:30 p.m. the program changes to Private Secretary with Mr. Peter Sands played by Don Faris, Miss Susie McNamara played by Bev- erly Sprieck, and Miss Vi Praskins played by Lois Gapen. Mr. Sands is trying desperately to get the production rights for Snipe Hunting In Af- rica which was written by Vernon Kaffenberger and stars Bill Gansmer and Sandra Burch. Mrs. York, now wanting to watch her favorite musical show, turns to another channel for the Ed Sullivan Show featuring Ron Nichols, who re- placed Ed Sullivan. Ron is introducing one of his star attractions, which, lo and behold, is now the world famous PHS Sextet with Minnie Etta Fra- zer, Beverly Harris, Deanna Hutton, Carolyn Larsen, Brenda Ofe, and Nancy Siemoneit. During the commercial, we find Shirley Traut and Nancy Holman demonstrating the new Super Atomic Lincoln Space Car which last year broke all mileage tests to Mars. The next attraction on the show is the famous ballet star Susette Feriece, formerly known as Janice Wiles, whose accompanist is that wonderful pianist, AnnWinscot. At 7:30 p.m. Joe switches to the other channel to watch the last part of the Colgate Comedy Hour, which features Jeannie Newton and her fast tapping routine , accompanied by thegreat concert pianist Margaret Eiting. The next program is I Love Loosely, featuring the lovable, charm- ing, and fascinating Joanne Livingston and Ed Egenberger in another one of their lovable adventures with their landlords, Carol Potschies and Herman Weber. Joe, overcoming Mrs. York's objections, insists on watching his fav- orite mystery, The Line Up, starring Larry Wiysel and Bill Weiss as the two trustworthy? loyal? and hard working??? ? policemen, who attempt to break up a vicious gang of kidnappers trying to steal the dirty bird from George Gobel's show, which has been taken over by Don Ger- beling. They took in suspicious characters , among whom are Jim Hanika, Lynn Fitzgerald, Gary Newburn, Francis Gochenour, and Ron Van Ackern. These men? ? are found guilty and are sentenced to twenty lashes with a wet noodle. Mr. and Mrs. York are not able to decide between The Medic , fea- turing the eminent Doctors Sally Amato and Joanne Keeley, who are try- ing to solve a baffling case of ARTEREALSCLERARIC OF THE CRANIUM, and The Big Story , with Don Beckman and his secretary Pat Hull. So they watched This Is Your Life with the honored guest being Miss Jessie Whalen, whose life as Senior Class Sponsor at PHS is portrayed. 22
