Student Senate —m FIRST ROW: Carol Avis, Jeanine Newton, Janice Wiles, Janet Campbell, Sharon Harbaugh, Bev- erly Harris. SECOND ROW: Gary Rieke, Bob McKulsky, Sally Amato, Nancy Lancaster, Linda Graves, Judi Meisinger, Rae Mae Henry. THIRD ROW; Mr. Weddel, Thomas Winscot, Roger Wehrbein, Dan Huebner, Mike Lewis, Denny Hirz, James Ulrich. The Student Senate, as you probably can tell from the name, is the student legislative body of the Plattsmouth High School. The Senate con- sists of eight seniors, six juniors, four sophomores, and two freshmen. Elections are held each semester, at which time half of the representa- tives for each class are elected. There are two groups of senators; one group serves for two semesters, and the other group serves for one semester only. There is no limit to the number of terms a senator can serve. The Senate, as a whole, passes laws for the betterment of the school, appoints the judges for Kangaroo Court , and must give a convocation for the school. There is usually a meeting held every week although the president may call a special meeting at any time. 8
