Coveted sweater awards are made for a person who has been a member for three years. All money made by the club is used for gifts to the ..school. This year a public address system lor the auditorium was installed. During the first five months of its existence the Art Club has busied itself with poster making and sketching items of interest to the various members. We started with a nucleus of 12 members. Orders are taken for posters advertising the social events held by other school organizations. Larger projects have been planned which will take the combined effort of the group. G. The contest differed from former contests in that all essays dealt with the Constitution and had been written by the speaker. During the year the Gym Leaders conduct play days with other schools, sports nights for all high scnool girls and help to organize and officiate all athletic activities. PHS, how- ever, had outscored every opponent in the first 3 down column to rack up five wins, one tie and 2 two defeats. The outlook for the 1950 season is very bright in that 44 lettermen of the 51 award winners will be on hand to bring home the CVL crown. PHS continued its jinx over St. John's in winning the Battle of Broad Street for the fourth straight year and holding the Irish scoreless for the third consecutive season.
