During played at a school year arade. onored to be we were im- .. .fo This year, as last, several students from the 8th grade band played in the high school band to help bring out the weaker sections. Even though band is hard work and a lot of practice, there were quite a few laughs, such as the bird and jungle calls in Phantom Drums of Wadi Rumm , and Valarie Welsh hiding everyones' horns and folders. Other things that will always be remembered are: Andy Gump playing Bulldog Drummin' , Brad Norton ac- companing the band on his guitar in Black Magic Woman and how could anyone forget Mr. Gregory throwing paper wads at the wastebasket... and missing.

The Plattsburg High School Marching Tigers, instructed by Mr. Jack Gregory, put on many enjoyable performances for audiences of all sizes. The band performed at all home football games, marched in the Homecoming Parade, not only here, but at other schools in the area. After football season ended, practice began for Music Festival and the Spring Concerts. 2 his The band was honored at the beginning of the school year when asked to entertain at the Missouri State Teachers Association in Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. Even though the band was practicing for halftime at football games they took time out to practice for this memorable event. Later in the year they were asked to play at a conservation program at which Harold Ensley was the speaker. During Easter, volunteers from the band played at a Sunrise Service. At the end of the school year they marched in the Horse Show Parade. Each band member felt very honored to be a part of such events. We felt that we were im- portant to the community.
