Above, Mr. Buza holds a discussion on an assignment. Students are very attentive in Mr. Buza's class. The seventh and eighth graders do their homework. The Mighty Eighth The new varsity basketball coach also taught seventh and eighth grade block and math. Throughout the year, his students have made Egyptian and Greek boats to go along with their study of these countries. They con- structed feudal castles and made Far Eastern flags. Individual reports were given on all European countries leading into a group report of Europe itself. In math they have been intro- duced to the metric system and the protractor, one of the geometric tools. J. Hibberd, P. Cramer, and C. Cloyd are fasinated. 2

Above, attentive seventh graders learn the fundamentals of social studies and English. The First Steps Mr. Troxel taught seventh and eighth grade block, speech, junior and senior class plays and coached Junior high bas- ketball. The seventh graders studied Greek Myths, the Adventures of Hercules, Ne- braska and the states history, and made maps and flags of the countries studied. They have looked at most all countries in the world and have compared them to ours. M. Milks, J. Schrum, P. Pulsifer, R. Rowe, and K. Schneider Mr. Troxel listens to his students carefully, during presentations and discussions.

How to Write It Above, B. Sedlacek and N. Cowsky confer on their English. Below, W. Lugsch labors, taking notes for her research paper. Above, Miss Malolepszy sets the stage for a writing exercise which became a standard this year. The English classes, led by Miss Malolepszy, were kept very busy throughout the year. Different methods of teaching were introduced into her classes which proved to be very inter- esting for the students. Studying English literature, reading a variety of books, writing to music and working on their themes were all accomplished. Below, G. Clark, C. Pelzer and A. Kibbler discuss journalism. 2?
