A Creative World Mr. Bates has his hands full teaching grades 7-12. This year Mr. Bates entered his student's projects in three contests. Jerry McCune and Cheryl Buchanan won state honors in the Scholastic Magazine contest and their entries went to New York City for a National Contest.

Exploring Science Science department arrived this year with a boom. A fresh chemistry class succeeded in exploding three hy- drogen generators in one day. It was a first. Mr. Pharoah is head of the sci- ence department and teaches subjects with enthusiasm. Outlines were pre- dominate as the younger classes learned that they didn't have time to talk. The freshman class studied very vigorously throughout the school year. A course In Physical Science was Introduced and many hours of time was spent mastering it. Linda Richardson carefully does her lab assignment in Chemistry. Mr. Pharoah continues to teach with his unique sense of humor. 9

World-wide Knowledge The World Geography class listens attentively to Mr. Salberg's lectures. Donna Kuehn volunteers her answer for the class. Mr. Salberg's field of teaching is centered around Social Studies. He is the Freshman and Sophomore instruc- tor. The main objective in his courses is to learn . Mr. Salberg's distinct voice can be heard around the halls as he gives forth his knowledge to his students. Ron Keller watches Rita Sorenson as she points out the main cities of China.
