LJass Tlistory Our tour of the planets began in the year 1954. This was also our freshman year at Springfield High School. A group of eighteen eager adventurers, namely, Orville Beck, Robert Daniels, Gary Grube, Donald Haynie, Donna Haynie, Raymond Haynie, Betty Ann Hennings, John Iske, Gloria Keyes, Wanda McCarty, Jerry Osborn, Judy Sass, Janet Shepherd, James Thulin, Dean Timmerman, Gene Treadway, Robert Wiese, and William Woodward embarked from the Springfield space station, bound for a four-year tour of the planets. The first stop on our tour was the planet, Mars. It was then the middle of our freshman year. Charlotte Hitt joined our group there, making our total nineteen. As we passed over Jupiter at the beginning of our sophomore year. Gene Treadway and Charlotte Hitt decided to do some sight-seeing, and we dropped them off. Rosalie Armbrust and Claude Corpian joined us there. This brought the total at the beginning of our sophomore year once again to nineteen. In the middle of that year Claude decided to leave us, and we bade him farewell on Saturn. We remained on Saturn until the beginning of our junior year. By that time Donald Haynie, William Woodward, and Janet Shepherd had become attached to Saturn and also chose to remain there. This dropped our number to fifteen as we entered our junior year. During our junior year we traveled from Saturn to Venus. There we left Robert Daniels and Raymond Haynie, who preferred the climate and scenery there. It was now the beginning of our senior year, and we were still on Venus. We picked up Richard Malone, who decided that travel with us would be more exciting than travel alone. Gene Treadway was with us again. His sight-seeing was done, and he returned to our group once more. Richard soon tired of our travel, and he left us in the middle of our senior year. At the end of our senior year we were back on Earth. Our group numbered fourteen. Those present at the end of the trip were Rosalie Armbrust, Orville Beck, Gary Grube, Donna Haynie, Betty Ann Hennings, John Iske, Gloria Keyes, Wanda McCarty, Jerry Osborn, Judy Sass, James Thulin, Dean Timmerman, Gene Treadway, and Robert Wiese. The fourteen crew members parted at the Springfield space station on May 22, 1958. Each of them went his own way, remembering the wonderful experiences that they had shared during the four years of travel. All the members agreed that this trip had been educational, thrilling, and exciting, ahd that it would never be forgotten by any of them.
