This year French students worked on fund raising to send French lll and French lV students to France during the summer with Mrs. Stuart as Chaperone. Distributive education offers students an opportunity to grow in a non- traditional learning environment. As juniors D.E. classes study free enterprise and elements of marketing, sales, advertising and merchandising. As seniors D.E. students work for a half day to practice their skills. Trips, contests, special speakers and seminars make this course of study a real option for those who choose to enter the world of work after high school graduation. Platte County DECA is part of the national organization of the Distributive Education Clubs of America. Before school started Pep Club organized with a barbecue at Becky Taulbee's house. They sold cleaning products and stationary to buy PCHS orange and black T-shirts, that admitted members to games for half price. Perhaps the greatest success was that two busses were filled to overflowing for most of the away games with members and other fans. In the spring squads of cheerleaders recruited new members from the junior high schools. CLeftJ Kim Harrison recharges her pep before the next cheer at a wrestling match. 87
