si ws 89 A. Juniors enjoy the thrill of their first prom. B. Junior Mike lVlclVIanis and his date Sue Nliller arrive at the prom. C. As the music plays, the class of '72 dances. D. The prom queen candidates and their escorts, Barbie Barnes, Chip Brockman, Sue Kulp, Perry Frost, Beth Smoker, Ed Wilson, Wendy Cohen, Glen Callaway, Jill Thompson, Brad Gardner, Glenda Baxter, Danny Miller. E. Junior, Maria Giardello, and her date, Steve Bernardo, refresh themselves at the prom.

'WAX A. Class of '72 participates in traditional Junior Prom The enthralling atmosphere that surrounds an important event was upon the Junior Class during lVlay when they held their Junior Prom. The formal dance was held in the school's auditorium, with Traces as the theme. Candidates for prom queen were juniors Barbie Barnes, Glenda Baxter, Wendy Cohen, Sue Kulp, Beth Smoker, and Jill Thompson. The Paddlewheel Queen, an old-fashioned paddle- wheel boat was the site of the after-prom activities. A rock band provided entertainment as the boat glided along the water ofthe Intracoastal Waterway.

Plantation High School Marching Band accents football A. B The Varsity lVlarching Band completed a successful football season during fall. They provided wonderful entertainment for the fans every week at half-time shows and musical selections throughout the games. Along with the drill team, the band composed the major part of the cheering section. Without them, the pep rallies held this year would not have resulted as outstanding as they were. The members of the band spent, besides the one class hour each day, countless hours of practice after school and in the evenings. As to their school spirit and enthusiasm, the door to the band room with the saying Enter this room with spirit or not at alI best describes it. A. Band major, Flon Sirman, and majorette, Leslie Neff, take their places on the field. B. Band Members march in position during half time. C. At the Colonels' Club County Fair, the band pauses to play a favorite song, The Horse. D. Drummer, Nathan Howard, concentrates on the music. 90
