Scholarship was the basis for the selec- tion. A cumulative scholastic average was taken to determine the recipients. The gold cords were given out and worn with the cap and gown during com- mencement exercises June 8, in War lVlemorial Auditorium. Of the sixty-one, two were chosen for the best scholastic averages. The valedictorian, Nlike Gross- man, maintained the best average, the salutatorian, Don lVlanis, the second best. Both of these students made individual speeches before the actual distribu- tion of diplomas took place. The other students pictured on this page are the top ten students in the Senior Class, excluding, of course, the valedictorian and salutatorian.
