We New innovation at PHS, DE CA Club sells warm pretzels ng, 5.1, V M'-'rv ' h ,, x ,A f ,ll TR 5, E F J Sunny Hamill Sponsor A. B. lt's 12:05 and that empty pit of your stomach is growing . . . louder . . . and louder! Suddenly a stu- dent appears, hauling a cart of those warm giant sized pretzels. DECA has managed to save hundreds of students from near starvation, by selling pretzels during the break between sessions. A new club this year, DECA had many other fund-raising and service projects, such as their T-shirt and Christmas candle sales. DECA Club also organized and managed a student employment agency within the school. Early this year students completed personal job information cards which DECA kept on file. All inquiries from busi- nesses seeking student employees were channeled to DECA and the appropriate cards were sent to that particular business. Distributive Education Club's of America, a na- tional organization, is a co-curricular activity of a marketing class with four major objectives: to de- velop leadership, vocational competency, social in- telligence, and civil consciousness. Under the guidance of lVlrs. Hamill, Distributive Education stu- dents prospered as a newly organized club as well as achieving personal satisfaction in vocational training.
