Both the Freshman and Junior Varsity track teams finished long seasons with contentment. Many weeks before the first meets were held, the two squads were practicing and sweating before school to get into shape. Student Council officers initiate 'Gay 90's, ' Student my Student Council had an enormous job this year in unifying a student body of over 4,000. Its objectives: organizing and initiating student activities, serving as a communications link between student and faculty and the promotion of leadership and good citizenship through various planned activities such as Americanism Week, Homecoming, Gay 9O's Week, Peace Corps Partnership School Program and Student Exchange Program. The primary and foremost money-making project proved a success with the raising of 35800. Led by Jim Jamieson, the year concluded with the general feeling of worthwhile accomplishment and a better understanding of oneself. Chris Stevens, vice president, Cathy Edwards, secre- taryg and Lisa Taylor, treasurerg made up the rest of the council. A. Student Council officers Chris Stevens, vice president: Cathy Edwards, secretaryg Lisa Taylor, Treasurer, and Jim Jamieson, presi- dent, help to decorate the Christmas tree in the main office. B. Mr. Roland, Student Council adviser, answers Lisa Taylor's questions during a regular meeting. C. Carl Rudd keeps a watchful eye on the Student Council officers as they organize activities for the year. D. One job of a Student Council representative is to attend meetings regularly. E. Many issues are voted on and rejected during the course of one year. F. Under the leadership of Jim Jamieson, meetings go smooth and swiftly. G. Social gatherings are a big part of the regular Thursday night meetings. B.
