H. 149 The Colonel track team began practicing in early February this year almost a month before their regular season meet started on Nlarch 5. They were headed into a tough season of many dual and tri-meets against Nova, Chaminade, Dillard and Pompano. The team was under the coaching of Don Gatewood and Fred Dietrict. Events held in the meets were the mile run, pole vault, broad jump, 220 yard dash, mile relay and the discus.
