ear of hard work, put together an undefeated season All goals set by the Freshmen were surpassed as the team put together an undefeated season. The Freshmen team was a lineup of zestful members with enough ambition to work until complete team perfection was achieved. Their 6-0 season record only tells half the story though. They scored a total of 170 points with only 20 scored against them as they completely shut out Nova, Northeast and Pompano. Along with team captains, Tom Ponche and Craig Havens, there is enough talent and ambition to anticipate an exciting Junior Varsity season next year. A. Cross country goes to Jacksonville for state meet 1 I-I, , f1r4 '!' VWMMK -up .sa A .. .Aussie B A fine team effort helped Plantation's young cross country team rank high in the state competition at Jacksonville. The Colonels went unmentioned in the pre-season picks as a tough team to beat. However the Colonels had but one blemish on their season record. It was one loss to Stranahan against seven wins in dual competition. By the time the Colonels had met Lauderdale's team in the Flying L Invitational, they had begun to put it all together. One week later, they entered the Broward County Conference meet and placed second. The next week they placed third in the District meet which on November 21 qualified them for their opportunity in Jacksonville, where they ranked tenth out of twenty-five teams in the state competition.
