Who said Raider Varsity couldn't defeat the 3rd ranked Plant Panthers? Fate seemed to have the Raid- ers doomed for the beginning of the season, but with a 27-21 up- set over the Panthers, Raiders proved fate wrong. Special recognition went tc Remi E Watson, who led the county in pass receiving. The talent rich Raiders produced many outstanding all-confer- ence players who helped make the Raiders number one. We are the best team ever. All we needed was a little en- couragement and support from our fans. Senior tackle Bruce B. 7-1 J.V. Football The 1981-82 J.V. football team, with new players and new coaches, kicked off the season with a thrilling victory over Tampa Bay Tech. Coaches Todd Long and Bruce Jordan, both former Raider football stars, used their expertise as a guide to prepare the J.V. players for fu- ture participation in varsity foot- ball. This is mainly a learning year for more than half the team, but when we work, we strive together to do our very best as a team. We have our ups and downs, but most of the time we can work together to pull the downs up. Chuck Struth This season was allright, but it could have been a lot better if we had had more people. We did pretty good with what we had. Rob Gough Front: Forest Faison, Sam McCullough, Mike Sodders, Tim Conway.
