E' --t 1981-82 JROTC CADET BATTALION The Plant City High School JROTC Battalion began participating in school, community, and competitive activities at the opening of the 1981-B2 school year, bringing credit and recognition to the school. The hard work set forth by all resulted in winning the Tampa Veterans' Day Parade trophy for Best Marching Unit in which the COLOR GUARD, DRILL TEAMS, and DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS participated. The male and female Color Guards participated in each of the pregame activities at all home football games. ln addition, they participated in the Tampa Veterans' Day Parade and provided color presentations for the FBLA, the FHA conferences, and the University of Tampa Drill Meet. They also participated in the Columbia High School and University of Florida Drill Meets in the spring of 1981. The male and female drill teams worked extremely hard in preparing themselves for both basic and precision drill competition. The DRUM AND MAJOR CORPS has taken on an added importance to the JROTC program. The DSB has done much to build the morale and esprit de corps of the corps of cadets by performing and marching in Cadet Reviews, the Tampa Veterans' Day Parade and participating at the JROTC Parents' Association Meetings. The RIFLE TEAM consisted of 10 members, of which 6 were new to competitive shooting. The team participat- ed in 7 shoulder to shoulder matches during the school year including a match at Fort Benning, Ga. where they competed against JROTC rifle teams from that area. og..m Not pictured COMPANY Ag Company commander: Curtis Stansel, Eric Bla' lock, John Brown, Reginald Carr, Ray- mond Coleman, Anthony Cox, Nelson Davis, Charles Denson, Charles Don- nelly, Greg Duffell, Luevinia Felton, Amanda Forbes, Christina Habgood, James Haden, Mark Hawthorne, Kathy Hayes, James Knight, Johnny Mahaffey, Shiela Matthews, Calvin Mayes, Nancy Miller, Brian Moody, Herbert Padgett, Randy Parker, Don- ald Peeples, Joseph Pittman, Daylon Pollock, David Sheppard, Mike Smith, John Sturgeon, Earl Taylor, Edwin Taylor, Mike Tharrington, Mar- tin Torres, John Ware, Eugene War- ing, Chris Welcome, Andrea Wood, Natalie Wright.
