5 5 S all xl r The success of any school depends not upon any one person or group of people, but rather, upon the combined co-operation of everyone. For this reason, we, the Graduating Class of Planeview High School, dedicate the 1945 TALESPIN to Superintend- ent Frank K. Reid, to all the other Administrators of our school, to our faculty, to our entire student body, to the Housing Administration, and to all industries involved in the War Effort, because of their unselfish, devoted con- tributions. -sr

41.71. sawd-.- Principal Adolph Unruh . . . Vice Principal Sid Moore Pilot Unruh and Co-pilot Moore began their long-distance mission rounding up Gremlins and charting their courses. When an instructor reports: Atten- tion - Gus, the Gremlin, A. W. O. L. , Co-pilot Moore sees that he gets back on the beam and stays there! A report is flashed: Unidentified Grem- lin flying around at P. H. S. Looks like it will be a forced landing. But Pilot Unruh is on the job and lands the new Gremlin safely on the field and supplies him with the necessary charts and equip- ment to enable him to continue his work. FromPilotUnruh's andCo-PilotMoore's offices come the schedules and courses for routine stunt flights to nearby fields. Although the P. H. S. Gremlins kept these commanders in a tailspin a lot of the time, they were able to make a perfect landing with only a few slipping off the plane. The rest, except for those dis- charged, retired to their barracks after a seemingly thorough mission to wait for reassignment in the fall.
