Hail! The class of 1940 passes! Young men and women, we salute you as you march past this reviewing stand of life. With what are you equipped? Twelve years of academic training has been allotted you by the state. Healthy l bodies have been bestowed upon you by your parents. From a long line of ancestors, you have an inheritance of mental ability. Society has afforded you a complete social background. You are thus equipped, not uniformly, to face and wage the battles of life. Before God, you are all created equal, having equal opportunity to love your neighbors as yourselves. Into whatever capacity you go, whether your sphere of action be great or small, you go forth to serve. With your diverse uniforms, supplies and arms, you will frequently fight your battle alone, at other times you will join forces with others. If you make yourselves necessary to the world, be assured that the world will take care of you. Courage, faith, and determination are the implements with which you will conquer. Your success then depends upon everlastf ing, sanctilied tenacity with which you hold the field.
