The play concerns Mrs. Agnes Martyn fGwenneth Markleyj, a widow, who has fallen in love with a childhood sweetheart, Henry Turner KBernard LaGesseJ. Henry's children, Doris Cletta Hrabel and Sammie KDon Bartlettl decide to try to break up the romance by assuming fits and com- plexes. While Agnes's children, Bob IJames Hrabel and Marilee CLouise Glick! and Gracie CMargaret Wisej, with the help of her sister-in-law, Miss Lydia Martyn fFerne Martini, add their bit to break up the romance also. The negro cook, Begonia QJeannette Catudalj and the colored Handyman, Nicodemus CLeo Hamel! lend a comic element to the situation. With some handy scheming from both Agnes an Henry, they all live happily ever after. DRAMATICS The dramatics department gave the annual Dramatics Evening April 28. The class presented a three act play. OPERETTA On March first the music department presented the first highschool musical drama given in Plainville for several years. The light opera, CARMELITA, has a romantic Spanish setting with brilliant costumes, choruses and dancing.
