f Na ,, 'UN in 'lb Betty Jane Dou herty Honor Society, 4 lee Club, l, 2 President, 4 Cardlnal Booster Annual Staff Twirler 3 4 Junior Play Senior Play Physical Education Betty Lou KITKMHD lee Club Accompanist, 4 Glee Club, l 2 3 4 A Capella Cholr, 3 Band, 3, 4 Pep Club, 2 Annual Staff Booster Staff Hlxed Chorus, 2 Honor Soclety, 4 R SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Class Color Rose and White Joy Carmicheal Honor Soclety, 4 Pep Club 2 Junlor Play President, 3 Physlcal Education Jand 3 4 Glee Club, 1 Class Motto Yesterday we followed, today we lead Class Flower Rose The freshman class of 1936 included 54 boys and Girls Many of the members came from rural schools At the first election of officers Catherine Williams was elected president, Margaret Saindon, vice president, Jack Hilgers, secretary treasurer, and the sponsor was William Eckart With the r1ng1ng of school bells in the fall of 1937 the freshmen became sophomores The newly elected officers were, president, Don Westhusing, vice president, Jack Hilgers, secretary treasurer, Joy Carmicheal In the fall of 1938, when the class came together and held the annual elec tion, Joy Carmicheal became president, Jack Hilgers, vice president, Betty Jane Dougherty, secretary, Lawrence Mock, treasurer Mr Van Gundy was chosen spon sor The Junior senior banquet, which was held in the basement of the Christian Church, was very pirate like in style and was very enjoyable The class play was 'The Folks Next Door In September of 1939 this class had reached the rank of seniors, with 40 members The class elected Betty Jane, president, Betty Lou Kirkman, vice president, Joy Carmicheal, secretary treasurer. Miss Steiger and Mr. Eckart were chosen sponsors. The accomplishments as seniors, include the senior play, WHigh Pressure Homer,' participation in athletics and in music, publishing the annual and edit ing the Cardinal Booster. 0, SENIORS! MY SENIORS! lwith apologies to Walt Whitmanl O, Seniors! My Seniors! at last our t1me has come, And we will 'Commence' now, the brilliant with the dumb. No more will we Jump and start when we hear that tardy bell. Our last picnlc is o'er now and gee! but it was swell. O, Seniors!
