Dr. Glenn Harrison Mr. Donald Lee Terrell SUPERINTENDENT, Plainview PRESIDENT, Plainview Board Independent School District of Education The Board of Education of the Plainview Independent School District continued its upward climb on the progress charts in 1978-79, led by Dr. Glenn Harrison, superintendent, and Mr. Donald Lee Terrell, president. Dr. Harrison’retired effective June 30, 1979, bringing to a close thirteen years of productive service to Plainview schools. During his tenure, major accomplishments by the Board included not only the passage of the 19 1 school bond issue (S4.8 million) but also the desegregation of Plainview schools. Additionally, a new Field House and press box were built at Bulldog Stadium, and an all-weatner track installed. Some twenty new offerings were added to the high school curriculum, and counseling services and a physical education program begun on the elementary school level. Plan A Special Education was instituted, as well as a deaf education program. In his annual Christmas letter to Plainview teachers, Dr. Harrison pointed out, “I have been most fortunate to have been surrounded by people who for the most part exemplified the highest degree of dedication.
