Royalty Presented in Regal Ceremony Coronation, 1971.. .When the doors opened, another memory was bom. . . In the September school-wide election, Pat Daffem was selected FHS Queen, and Debbie Case named Princess, winning over Kaylene Churchwell, and Dawn Watson in the run-offs. On Coronation night, when the doors opened for royalty to enter, Princess Debbie, wearing a gold dress and carrying gold mums, was es- corted down the aisle by Darryl Carter. The doors opened a second time. Queen Pat stood in the spotlight, wearing the traditional white satin gown, and carrying red roses. Serving as her pages were Kathy Shedd, Joan Cook, Becky Elder, and Candy Cone. With trumpet fanfare, she mounted the stage, and was crowned by Student Council President Blaine Smith. Greg Cartwright, president of the Senior Class, presented the sceptor. The A C appella Choir helped to highlight the evening with music from Love Story. Both court and subjects stood together to sing the school song. ... And another memory was bom. Pat Daffem... 1971 Queen...
