Initial Activities Set Pace or Busy Year Monday, September lst--the first day of school. The days were long and warm, and it was a chore to get down to the business of studying, Besides, the other things were more interesting. Study hall was a place to catch that routine nap in the afternoon, The teachers though had other ideasg they thought school was the place to come to study. XYfhat we really came for was extracurricular. Seniors got their rings and ordered invitations, Choir soon began work on the operetta, and if naturally we tolerated no small amount ot' class work. At any rate, these and other activities set the pace for a busy and wonderful year. 5 The halls are deserted until 8:30 each morn. With the opening of the new lfstgicado jr. High, we lost the freshman class, und its .1 result diminished in enrollment from all time high last year to just under 800 on com- pletion of registration in September. August 28th and 29th found students pondering over schedules, renewing old friendships, and preparing for the first classes.
