During football season, every Friday is pep rally day, and students spend the time boosting the Bulldog spirit. Assemblies of various types are held on the average of once a week. Sometimes, the program is edu- cational, others are entertaining only. Movies are sponsored from time to time for the stu- dents. During the noon hour, hun- gry students await their turn in the cafeteria. Lunch hour for the approximate 1000 PHS students is divided into two periods, one beginning at 12:05 and the one at 12:30. Students gather in the morn- ings to await the 8:30 bell. l I I

After registration September 1 and 2, PHS soon settled down to the routine of the normal school day. A W li You Wan Pam Poole gives the devotional. Life in Plainview High begins around 8:00 A.M. as students convene in groups in the cafeteria to await the 8:30 bell. Here they may have breakfast of milk, orange juice, and rolls and visit with friends. By 8:30 most of the buses have unloaded, and the students start drifting into first period classes.

Mattie Bannister chats, Wildean listens. Some are studying. .lane White, Annie Sue James, and Miss Holley are on hand to aid. Nancy Robinson checks out books. The library is a favorite meet- ing place for many of the students to read for pleasure as well as to do research work for their classes. A group of girls is al- ways on hand to see that stu- dents are aided. Miss Holley is there to aid the students in every way possible. Study hall is another part of the average student's day.
