Election of class Offi- cers started the year and then the Senior Rings arrived to make it official. This Class as well as the others was interested in football. The highlight for November was the Coronation of Queen Barbara. December brought basketball and then January was mid-term. Nine students graduated then. They dropped their last game of the season to Kilgore, 52-69, to take fourth place in State in the AAA division. During the '55 season, the team played ten matches. They also entered five tournaments at Big Spring, February 25th-26thg Pampa, March 12thg Spade, March 19thg and District at Canyon April 15th. On deadline date district standing was not decided. On April 2nd, the girls hosted the fourth annual invitational AH and B Tourna- ment in PHS gym. With the will to succeed, this club has carried out several proj- ects this year. Hundreds of Christmas cards were collected and sent to mental hospitals. Later on ten safety flags were made for the public schools of Plainview. The chapters also entered the World Christmas Festival by gathering packages and sending them over- seas. Other activities included Western Date Night, Mother-Daughter Christmas Banquet, and the Sweetheart Banquet. Several outstanding members were selected and sent to the state meeting in Galveston. One of the main duties of the chapters this year was publishing the Area I newspaper, The Ramblerf' Sue Chapman, local member, was elected Area Reporter and served as editor of the area paper. An aPPle for the teachef-H FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA The Future Teachers, one of the most active f clubs in PHS last year, assisted with Back to School Night, presented an assembly pro' gram, appeared on programs for three service clubs during American Education Week, entered a float in the Pioneer Round-Up Parade, and Phoor Harmomfa presented a radio program. In conjunction with American Education Week, they sponsored Teacher Appreciation Week by doing errands and clerical work and bringing the teachers apples and corsages or boutonnieres.
