This banquet is usually a Mother-Daughter affair but this year the girls decided to change their ,plans and make it a Father- Doughter banquet and they did. Throughout the ballroom, hol- ly and pine cones with big red bows tied to -them were used as decorations. The only light used w1as from light bulbs col- ored blue and candles in silver holders. A big. Christmas trec, beautifully decorated, stood in one corner. One dozen American beauty roses were used as the centerpiece at the head -table, To start the evening off, Lois Wirriberly, president of the IN- ture Homemakers, led the group in repeating the creed of WHA as the invocation. The Future Homemakem choir, introduced 'by the song leader, Narcia Fin- ney, sang Christmas Qarols. Plainsman, Council Initiate Christmas Relief Program The Plainsman and Student Council have initiated Christmas relief for European families and families of our own community. Both the council and the school paper have contributed ten dol- lars each to this fund., The or- ganization to which all European funds will be sent is known as CARE, Cooperative for American Remittances to Europe. So that our own local needy families will not be forgotten, a portion of the sum contributed will govnfor local Christmas relief. A CHRSTMAS BIOGRAPHY It all happened so suddenly. For ever so long I had been alone, unnoticed by everyone. No one cared it I froze or died from lack of nourishment. The 'presentation came as A surprise to the majority of the student body, few realizing that the choir had completed the am- bitious project started last spring under the direction of Carol Kelly, at that time.director of choral music in the Plainview high schools. With the assistance of the School Board, which agreed lo underwrite the remain- der of -the necessary fund, the Choir had sufficient money to make the purchase of the piano in tinfe io present it as a Christ- mas gift to the school.
