O. J. LAAs, B. S., M. A. Superintendent TO THE STUDENTS: Education is a process whereby we fit ourselves to comprehend and appropriate the whole spiritual inheritance of the race. It is the process through which we gain the ability to perceive and the capacity to enjoy that which is excellent. It is a process which enables us to harness and use the forces of nature for our safety, comfort and convenience. It gives us the power to adjust ourselves to our environment and to meet better the situations that we have to face. It gives us the power to project ourselves into the environment of our adversaries and thus enables us to widen our understanding and sympathy and toleration. It is the building of manhood and womanhood and the development of the power to distinguish eternal from temporal values and the passion for service and leadership. It is the sowing and nurturing of the seed of love for art, music, literature and for 'all the beautiful and inspiring and noble achievement of mankind. It is the steady growth of the soul into truer and closer rcfalatioiiship with the Divine Soul--the Supreme Educator, the Master 0 us a . Sincerely, O. J. LAAS, Superintendent.
