Dedication Seated, left to right: Lawrence Houle, Paul Montgomery, Fred Hadfield, Larry Burk, Richard Russell, Edward Niehus. Standing: Wayne Stevenson, coach Harvey Johnson, Luzern Richter, Douglas Thompson, Douglas Davis, Leslie Tauchen, manager; Paul Crafts, coach. Eight years ago under Mr. Niehus’ guidance these boys began their basket- ball careers. At this time the course was set, and in the spring of 1953, in grade school under the coaching of Mr. Brennan, they were the first team to ever become one of the Sweet Sixteen” of the state. In high school, Coach Stevenson carried on with their plans and today we have the first team to win the State District. We are proud of you—you certainly followed your dream. In recog- nition, it seems very fitting that this issue of dreams be dedicated to you.

Superintendent o ScAooA WALTER G. NIEHUS, B.Ed., M.A.; Illinois State Normal University, University of Iowa, University of Wyoming. We take great pleasure in extending to you our sincere congratulations upon the completion of a new high school. For the second time in nine years it has been your duty to supervise the construction and the equipping of new buildings for Plainfield schools. We know the tasks were not easy. There were many hours of planning, and great demands made on your strength and personal life but, now, too, your dream is being fulfilled. It is a day of great importance and marks another milestone in the educational development of Plainfield. It offers the girls and boys of our community greater opportunities and advantages. Surely, it is with satisfaction and pride that you look upon this accomplishment. Our wish for you is success in all future dreams.
