TRADITION OF THE LITTLE RED FOX' In September, 1941, when the Fox Valley Conference was formed, our own Superintendent of Schools, W. G. Niehus, then Superintendent of Minoo ka. conceived the idea of the Little Red Fox. Designers of the fox were Miss Marjorie Wilson and Jack Satorius, Minooka teachers. Whenever the holder of the fox is defeated—either in league play or in the conference tournament—the fox changes hands. Plainfield began the '55-'56 season in possession of the cherished fox and retained it throughout the sea- son except for a period of five weeks prior to the F.V.C. Tourney. Each successive holder of the fox is allowed to adorn the symbol of F.V.C. supremacy with appropriate initials and scores. Traditionally speaking, we hope the spirit of the Little Red Fox survives for many more seasons.
