F.0.P.A. P.A. Performing Arts | and Il is an integral part of FOPA the drama group at PHS. The group strives for creative and thought provoking dramas and performances. This year two major exerpts on teenagers in crisis situations — ‘‘To Kill A Devil” by R. Furman and ‘‘Daubers”’ by T. Ward were entered in several festivals and also presented in the evening productions and on Cable TV Channel 20. Black History month was celebrated by an Art Show and an assembly entitled ‘Voices of the Past: Speak To The Present.” The final production is to be a dance video in May and a major Drama Festival with a one act ‘‘String’’ by Alice Childress as the entry. One of the highlights of the year took place at the Long Branch High School Forensic Tournament when Scott Armstrong and Kim Bond were awarded 4th place Dramatic pairs for their exerpt from “‘To Kill a Devil.”’ (ST) 20

The Advanced Chorus Library Council The Library Council is composed of volunteers who give 2 work periods per week helping the Librarians with various duties in the P.H.S. Library. The Club meets on alternative Wednesdays at 8:00 to plan activities and Fund raisers. Bond, S. Lashley, missing: W. Chapman. For the 5th year in a row, the Gospel Choir successfully represented PHS at the NJEA Convention held in Atlantic City. The Choir sponsors several fund raisers including Fresh Fruit From Florida sales, Plainfield Cards VS Kiss Cards Basketball Game and a Fashion Show — Luncheon at the Hyatt in New Brunswick. Being frequent travelers, the Choir participates in Choir Festivals and Concerts in the Tri-State area. Their 6th Annual Concert Is scheduled for March 22, 1986. Mrs. Doris Gray and Ms. Spring Banks are the group’s Advisors. 21
