Welcome To PHS We welcome three new members to the administrative team of Plainfield High School. This is getting to be an almost yearly feature of the Milestone. We trust our new members will settle in an add the degree of stability we need at our Alma Mater. Our new principal, Dr. Robert H. Max, has a very varied background in teaching, coaching, administration, and also in the United States Air Force. He received a B.A. and a Ed.D. from Rutgers University and an M.A. from Seton Hall Univer- sity. He has taught languages and social studies in the class- room. He has coached football, baseball, and started a wres- tling team at East Rutherford High School. He has been a Vice Principal and a Principal at six different high schools including Plainfield this year. He saw active duty in the Air Force from 1958-62 and is now active in the U. S. Air Force Reserve. He is also active in state administration organizations. He certainly has the background and expertise we need at PHS. Dr. Joseph Moore, our new Guidance Chairperson, also has a varied educational background. He has a B.S., two M.A.’s and a Ed.D. from Indiana University, Kean College, Seton Hall and Fairleigh Dickinson Universities. Most of his educational ex- perience has been in the Trenton public school system. He was also Director of Bureau of Basic Skills Improvement in the N.J. Department of Education. Dr. Otha Porter, our new Science Chairperson, has a B.S., M.S. and a Ed. D. from Indiana University. His major field of work has been in math, chemistry, and school administration. He has been a teacher and administrator in three public school systems in Virginia, Indiana, and New Jersey. He was at one time Superintendent of the East Orange public schools system. These men should be a great asset to the Plainfield school system. We wish them well. Dr. Joseph Moore Guidance Chairperson . st 3 4 ue 3 % committee.
