PHS Computer Center In the Computer Science courses the students receive an introduction to computers by learning the BASIC lan- guage. The Mathematics Department has expanded the computer curricu- lum this year by adding a second course in BASIC and increasing the number of available microcomputers. An even greater increase in both course offerings and hardware is anticipated for next year. With these recent and soon to be added developments, Plainfield High School can now say that it is beginning to meet the needs of a changing society and preparing its students for the ever changing technological world. We look forward to even more improvements in the future and will try to keep abreast of this rapidly changing field. 16

PHS Administration The Class of 1984 salutes the PHS Administrative Team. At the helm this year is our new leader, Dr. Robert H. Max, who brings to Plainfield a varied background in the field of education as noted in the introductory section. He may be new, but he has an experienced staff in his Vice Principals. Mr. Henry Foster is aided by Mrs. Gloria Taylor in the administration of the 9th Grade House. Mr. William Schlough and Miss Doris Lee assist Dr. Max in the new building. It is a challenging job to direct the destines of some 2500 students. The administrators are aided by a very competent group of Department Chairpersons. These chairpersons have always been one of the great strengths of Plainfield High School, and they do a masterful job of ensuring that the needs of the students come first.
