E.A.R.T.H. E.A.R.T:H. (Environmental Activists for Restoring Terrestrial Health) was initiated in 1970 for the purpose of informing the students and adults in the Plainfield area about the different aspects of pollution — contamination of the land, water supply, seas and atmosphere. In order to accomplish this end, the ecology club has and will continue to actively combat environmental decay through self-education, conservation projects, and public aware- ness projects with local, state and national agencies. One of the most active student organizations averaging over fifty members, E.A.R.T.H. has received recognition for its many ac- complishments from the National Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.), state and county officials, the City of Plainfield and various colleges and universities. On going projects include: construction of an artificial reef with the N. J. Artificial Reef Commission, erosion prevention in the Watchung Trailside Museum Conservation Center, winter week- end campout (Princeton Education Center), spring campout and backpacking along the Appalachian Trail, Whale Watch in Provin- cetown, Mass., aluminum recycling, rock climbing and outdoor Skills and stream monitoring with N. J. Public Interest Research Group. OUR MAIN GOAL IS TO ELIMINATE POLLUTION NOT ONLY TO IMPROVE OUT LIVES, BUT TO IMPROVE AND KEEP HEALTHY THE LIVES OF FUTURE GENERATIONS.
