A special program is offered, for students interested in the Legal or Political process called the Law and Political Action Intemship. Students are involved in a Statewide Model Congress, where students and teachers throughout the State of New Jersey participate in a three day stu- dent run version of Washington politics. The class also attends four statewide seminars conducted by the Institute for Political and Legal Education. A unique feature of this program is the in- ternship in Local and County government offices. The Social Studies Department also participates in a Youth Employment and Training Program where students are in- structed after school in Career and Employability Skills and placed on jobs in community agencies. This is done as an incen- tive to keep students in school and offer them Labor Market Orientation Counseling. 20
