LIBRARY SQUAD These students, under the direction of Mrs. Bahrenberg, assist in tutoring and are generally directed towards a teaching career. Some members also participated in teaching foreign languages on the elementary school level. The Library Squad performs an essential service for the Plainedge students. They help shelve the books in their proper areas, file cards, and work at the desk checking out books. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA

KEY CLUB .Q The students who are members of the Lab Squad perform many useful services to the Science Department They prepare experiments, gather materials and equipment needed by the Chemistry classes and teachers throughout the school. The purpose of this club is to perform services around the community. Some projects this year were the collection of the can goods for the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for those less fortunate than ourselves. Other services performed throughout the year were attending the coat room during the Senior Play and the Homecoming Dance. LAB SQUAD

42 SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY The Spanish Honor Society is a group consisting of those students outstanding in the language field. Twice a year the society assembles a Spanish newspaper consisting of stories, horoscopes, jokes, and art work done by the members. The soci- ety, advised by Mrs. Suzanne Vasi, has been to see a play in Spanish and plans to do a bicentennial project showing Spainls contribution to the American culture. ITALIAN CLUB 'wx - N-1 . The Italian Club, advised by Dr. Biagio Campana, created a French-Italian night combining the culture and food of both nationalities. The members investigate Italian culture and try to make it apparent in our society. Their various activities bring the Italian history and style into our awareness.
