f -'B'l Aff COMMUN TY SCHOOL The Community School was started for seniors only several years ago as an alternative school.'7 It was experi- mental and many people were confused about what it was. It combines Sophomores, juniors and Seniors, and is trying to break down grade barriers. Today, it is recognized as a success. Community School offers a freer kind of education, which allows for more dis- cussion. It encourages students to use their own minds, pace their own work, and hand in an independent project at the end of the year.

B.O.C.E.S. B.O.C.E.S. Cthe Board of Cooperative Educational Ser- vicesj is an educational program which allows certain stu- dents to receive a vocational, as well as academic education during high school. The students involved in the program spend approximately half of the school day at the B.O.C.E.S. center widening their skills and gaining practical experience which will help them in the future. The other half of the day is spent at the high school taking required courses. .5
