Spring semester: Jeanne Martinelli, president; Mary Shanley, vice-president; Betty Harms, secretary; Billie, Lardner, treasurer. RoDtin Tootin The yell leaders for both semesters, chosen by the Student Council, are pictured above. First semester: Bobby Fuller, Lorraine Daragnez, Taffy Kirk, and Clayton Craig, who was absent at the time the picture was taken. Second semester: Sally Switzler, Bobby Fuller, and Barbara McKenzie.

Dur Boy Jack Kennon, star halfback on the Placer Varsity football team, was awarded the Jacobs ' Trophy for outstanding playing during the 1945 season. The mem- bers of the football squad choose the player they think best quali- fied for the award. This is the second year this award has been given at the Placer Union High School. Jim Jacobs, a prominent busi- ness man of Auburn, and a for- mer manager of the Santa Clara football team, made the award. Musclehound The Block P Society, under the leadership of Jack Kennon with Coach Kendall Ar- nett, supervisor. The Block P sold program cards at the football games and they had the concessions at the Annual One-day Basketball Tournament, in which seven other schools competed. The officers of the Block P Society are: Jack Kennon, president; Edwin McDowell, vice-president; Lor- raine Daragnez, secretary; Gordon Gilbert, treasurer, and Tony Rocha, publicity manager.
