Country Cousins The Placer Chapter of the Future Farmers of America, under the super- vision of R. D. Richardson, has the largest membership since 1939, having a total of seventy members. Dick Van Riper placed second in the public speaking contest, held in Chico. The officers of the club are: James Durfee, president; Allen Butler, vice-president; Dale Craig, secretary; Angelo Lemos, treasurer; Bill Burgen, activities chairman; Robert Fowler, reporter.

Hacks at Ease The Journalistic honor society, Quill and Scroll, is filled to capacity this year, with only three members, Tony Rocha, Irene Beck, and Evelyn Manley, continuing from last year. The club ' s activities were limited with the interest centering in the publication of the Placer Union, the Argonaut Union, and the 1946 Potpourri. Squeakers The Placer Union staff, under the supervision of Earl Crabbe, initiated a new rotating plan whereby each student of Journalism I and 11 has a chance to be editor, sports editor, and circulation manager at least once during the semester.
