I feel that Pius is a good high school and has improved a lot by becoming more open to students ' opinion. -Kim Mada- My overall opinion of Pius is that is is one of the best things that can happen to any body in or out of school. •Eddie Nevarez- I think one can receive a good education here at Pius, plus enjoy many extracurricular ac- tivities. 1 do believe the students are too apa- thetic, they should be more involved in activi- ties, in student government; just in the school. -Mrs. Sova- It ' s a bunk school. -Marcus Holcome- Pius IS a good school, but we need more school spirit. ■Gina Martinez- I ' m really going to miss this school when 1 graduate it ' s going to be hard to leave after four years, I ' ll be starting all over again. -Karen Kozlowski- I really enjoy coming to school here. 1 know 1 wouldn ' t like to switch schools. The faculty and most of the students make the school a warm family and that is something other schools lacked that 1 have gone to, and some- thing I ' m proud to say 1 have. -Frances Smith- striving for our goals 7

f JM«,1 .- -J iJ r- STRIVING FOR OUR GOALS When people strive for a goal, events occur and the people develop characteristics which become a tradesmark for Ihem and Influence others. There is a person at Pius who has greatly influenced us all. his name- Fr Milbauer. Pius students wel- comed the new principal and won- dered what the year would generate As the days, weeks, and months passed, we. the students, discovered a friend in a high place who was will- ing to listen to our opinions He has made Pius X a high school to be proud of. He stressed academics, but made the everyday routine not so routine with visits from D.J. ' s. and the addition of Coke machines. As for Fr. Milbauer. he has acheived the goal of being a respected principal and caring friend of all the students at Pius X. Every student has a goal that he wants to acheive. and must work to achclvc it. whether It be studying to receive an A In Algebra, or prac ticing long hours on the field for the game on Friday night, or just trying to make it through the week. When a student strives for a goal he focuses on the goal and puts forth all his effort. If a fellow student loses his focus his friends turn him back to the goal and keep him striving. Each stu- dent sets an example and helps a friend In need. Teachers at Plus seem to have a new purpose besides sharing their knowledge with us. The new pur- pose- to become the friend of each student. They do odd favors, com- municate with students more, and are willing to sacraflce their time to aid a student In need. The students at Pius wouldn ' t be able to survive with out the present teachers at Plus, meaning: if the teachers did not care, who would? Every teacher Is guilty of bending the rules a little for a student, just as a friend would. For this and all they do for the students at Plus- thank you The sports teams of Plus all have a goal: to be number one-in league, in unity, and in sportsmanship. The teams strive to acheive their goals with practice, determination and pure sweat- The members of the team become as one player, each with his own role. The ability to do so requires trust and sacraflce. This type of relationship strengthens the team, enabling it to strive for the goal. -Karen Kozlowski- striving for our goals 9
