N-nf Right Reverend Monsignor PATRICK I, DIGNAN, Superintendent of Schools, Archdiocese of Los Angeles Consecrated to Guide lt is a proud distinction to be a graduate of the school named for the great saint whose motto was 'lTo restore all things in Christ, All the doctrine of Our Divine Saviour may be reduced to that great mission, To cause this magic twentieth century to return to the center of Christian consciousness and the Christian life is the only effective Way to bring C1 solution to the fearsome problems that beset us. Though so young, Pius X High School bids fair to become one of the largest in our Archdiocese. lt has established a splendid school spirit, and offers a well-rounded curriculum. its first graduates will, in a special way, establish the reputation of the school. Their alma mater has a right to expect from them the integrity of life, the devotion to duty, the Well- ordered Catholic life, and the earnest patriotism which it has so faithfully taught them. We thank REVEREND IOSEPH F. SHARPE . MA., Php., Principal Oftentimes even the greatest universities, even though equipped with the greatest facilties of libraries, buildings, and teaching staff, fail to implant wisdom in their students. More often, we see the truly wise, arising from obscure backgrounds, confounding the Worldly-Wise. The answer to this dilemma is contained in the Biblical phrase, 'The beginning of wise dom is the fear ot the Lord, meaning that a respect for the source ot all knowledge is the starting-point of true learning. Under the patronage of the great saint who exhibited such true Wisdom, Pius X l-ligli School is dedicated to the program of irnplanting the seed of Wisdom, the religious ideal, and nourishing this beginning with the best instruction possible.
