FOREWORD ... We came to Pius X; Trodding the lowly earth, we came. Gazing into the far-reaches of space, We found a goal. Brightly it burned so as to outshine the stars of the winter sky; Yet distant and ever so inaccessible it seemed. We would make the journey; We would attain our goal. A Countdown! A Blast! We had begun. It was a flight of aspiration toward a goal of achievement. It required fortitude, knowledge, charity...and Years. And how quickly those years passed! At times we were discouraged; at times, blinded by false hopes; But, as if spurred on by a cry of Excelsior! We mounted the skies, Refreshed by Purity, Sanctified by Piety, Encouraged by Loyalty. And we drew nearer. Now our goal is but moments before us. And once here, we gaze farther into space And find new goals. We realize that this is not the end of our journey. We are proud of our flight thus far. We shall be proud also, of the others who are to come. Countdown, Blastoff, a long Journey--all behind us; Before us lies our Target; and beyond that, the Future. Bishop of Allentown At the beginning of the school year, our band had the honor of posing with His Excellency, Bishop McShea, and of leading the Bishop's procession when he attended the Silver Jubilee celebration at St. Roch's Parish, West Bangor. Pictured with our beloved Bishop are Mr. Angelini, band director at Pius X, and Father Gallagher, pastor of St. Roch's.
