With or without rings, they knew how to accept responsibility, represent PXI-IS with dignity, and by their ex- ample, demand the respect of sophomores and freshmen. They started right off making decisions in September when they chose academic or commercial courses for their field of specialization. For the tirst time in Pius X history, the commercial department claimed the majority. Academic juniors may take Spanish I, Algebra II and Physics, while Business novices study Typing, Steno, and Bookkeeping. However, this year for the first time, academic students may also take typing. The Pius program is set up in such a way that commercial students can ht in enough electives to admit them to college or nursing should they choose to enter those fields rather than the world of business.
