Here, the place We met our friends, Days We'll cherish to the end Though we part, We know we'll ne'er regret All the precious days we can't forget. So for now we'll say farewell Till we meet again. Catherine Occhiato 22 Senior Class History In September 1952, we the Class of '55, made our entrance into Senior High School. As Sophomores we were full of confidence and anxious to please. To us, the future looked bright and rosy. Plunging into our extra-curricular activities, we saw some of our girls become majorettes while others became cheerleaders. Many of the boys went out for the football and basketball teams and have since become a credit to our school. Our Junior year began in 1953 with a great many of our students partici- pating in various club activities. During football season our victory over Old Forge with a score of 14-12 was the biggest upset of the year. On Thanksgiving Day we defeated Pittston Central 12-2. In basketball our team went to the finals in the Jaycee tournament. Our Junior-Senior Prom was held on June 11, 1954 and for the first time in many years the girls wore gowns. This and the beautifully decorated gym added to its tremendous success. After many long years of service our much respected superintendent, Miss Elizabeth G. Battle, retired. As niors in '54 we were honored with a new superintendent and a new princi . Mr. Francis A. Earley was appointed to succeed Miss Battle and Mr. C. William McNulty was appointed principlfof Senior High School. Miss Mary Frances conlan was placed in charge of teaching the Senior history classes. The annual Turkey Day game proved to be victorious for us as we scored over Pittston Central 19-0. We were very proud of our new stage curtain which arrived in time for our annual Band Concert .... in which many of our Seniors participated. Our Prom was a great success thanks to our Juniors and thus we turned our thoughts to graduation. With the conclusion of Commencement exercises we look ahead filled with eagerness but we shall never forget our school days which shall live in our memories forever. Extra-curricular activities absorbed our interests. Many girls became either majorettes or cheerleaders and many boys went out for football and basketball. Other activities that we participated in were: the Revealer, the annual concert and minstrel, the band, and the orchestra. The big event came when we presented a successful Christmas play. Now that we are looking forward to our Sophomore year, we will always carry our Freshman memories with us. Theresa Capitano, '58 SOPHOMORE HISTORY September, 1954, marked our entrance into the Senior High School. After be- coming acquainted with our teachers and subjects, we evenced interest in extra- curricular activities. Some joined the Press Club to write for The Revealer, others joined the band and orchestra. The Art and Mechanical Drawing Clubs held the interest of others as did foot- ball, basketball and baseball. Many Sophomores became majorettes and cheer- leaders. Dramatics likewise caught the fancy of others. With our Sophomore year fast ending, we wish to extend sincere thanks to our faculty and upper-classmen for their help and encouragement. Patricia Harrington, '57 JUNIOR HISTORY As we stepped into our Junior Year, we were both eager and excited. We were determined to uphold our showing as Freshmen and Sophomores. Our football team thrilled us by gloriously defending our colors. We had a good band, cheering squad, and twirling team. Interest in journalism was re-kindled when the first issue of the Revealer was published at Christmas time. Basketball and dances added to our enjoyment. Ad- mission was opened to us in the Latin and Dramatic Clubs. The Mechanical Draw- ing and Art Clubs provided those interested with an outlet for their ambition. We greatly enjoyed the programs and the Vocational Guidance Conference. The final event of our Junior Year was the Prom. We eagerly set to work to make this tribute to the Seniors, whom we soon would bid adieu, one that would be lasting in the memories of all who attended. We have done our best to make our administrators, supervisors, faculty and parents proud of our achievements by diligently working at our chosen subjects as well as extra-curricular activities, thus making this year a fitting finish of our high school career. We shall miss the patience, kindness, and understanding given us by our faculty as they guided us through the difficult years of our learning, as well as the cheerfulness and friendliness of our fellow classmates. The horizon for our graduating class is dotted with promise and success, but it is also shadowed with the discontentment and discord of an over-ambi- tious atomic age. It is up to us, the Class of '55, to strive to lay a better founda- tion for future world peace. Thus we take the torch to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield. We have now come to the crossroads of our lives and as we leave with our hearts filled with sorrow and cherished memories, we sadly say Farewel1.
