meet me Tn Stfllouis HE Senior Class, on February 10, 1950, presented a play as its annual production. This play, Meet Me In St. Louisu replaced the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas which have been given for the past eleven years. From the moment the curtain rose to the time the final song was sung, the audience was held enthralled. Everyone was entirely taken in by the charming Smith family. Betsy Hynes as the beauteous Rose started many a male heart fiuttering as she performed with the grace, charm, and poise of any Hollywood star. Each of the players was so suited to his part that the dialogue might have been written for him individually. Almost any day one can see Mr. Smith's two mischievous daughters, Agnes and Tootie, scurrying through the halls in the persons of Marcia Angelo and Joyce Lacas. St. Louis and the Smith girls were indeed fortunate in having such attractive males as Charles Genovese, Donald Shaw, and Richard Haskell at their beck and call. To sum it up briefly, the play was a four-star success. Orchids go to the coach, Miss Elizabeth Enright, for her excellent direction of the cast: to Mr. James Conroy, class adviser: and to the efficient co-chairmen, Margery Lyman and Richard Holleran.
