Sept. 18-Our first rally. Meek little souls, eh, upperclassmen? Sept. 29-Same old burned-out Fire Prevention talk. Oct. 16-S. A. S. Assembly, Let's Face It Now CNahhh, let George do it.J Oct. 23-Mr. Richard Pough on The Outdoors in New England. Wish we were! Nov. 12-Freed to see the Freedom Train. Nov. 26AThanksgiving. Sad news today, turkeys. Dec. 4- lVIanners for Minorsf, John L. Lewis, take heed! Dec. 9-A lecture Conquest of Mt. Mc Kinleyf' Nothing to get up in the air about. Dec. 15-Christmas vacation is here, All of us Sophomores do capers: No more work-and no more papers. Jan. 7, '48-Mr. Carlson gives a very interesting talk on Communism, although it doesn't seem to aid our class treasury in leaving the RED, Jan. 21-Hey, boys, how 'bout this charm exhibited by the Charm Quartet. Yahooooo!!!! Jan. 30-Our able skiers from P. H. S. show supremacy in winning the Berkshire Inter- scholastic Ski Title. Feb. 12--Our classmates of The Mikado flourished dcvastat.ing costumes as the audience sat spellbound. Feb. 241-Marguerite Shoemaker entertains with a program entitled Deep Sea Diver. We are wondering if she goes DOWN TO THE SEA IN SLIPS. Mar. 12W-The Army Ground Forces Band Concert proves to be a scintillating spectacle of syncopation and superlative genius. Mar. 31-April Q-A special class is held in the second fioor Mop room during Career Conference VVeek for certain intelligentsia interested in becoming custodians. April 1- Resin on the bow, boys, here we go, said Mr. Gormane-and they went . . . at the annual orchestra concert. May 17-The muscle-bound men of P. H. S. present a palpitating pageant of pulchritude and pantomime at the annual gym exhibition. May-It is with deep sorrow and regret that we make note of the passing of Mr. Arthur Goodwin, one of our vice-principals. June 4-The well trained talent of the Pittsfield High band makes its yearly concert its usual success. June 15-A final remembrance is left. by the Class of '48 in their class day program. They leave with a job well done. June 18-Our first year at P. H. S. is terminated with the optimistic outlook of having to sit through only 10,650 more periods. 'Junior your 1948-1949 Sept. 8, '48-School opens. Only Juniors, but we're getting there! Sept. l6MAsse1nbly. So You Don't. Like Poetryf, We've changed our minds! Nov. 1--Student Council finally votes to allow smoking behind the school during the lunch periods. A light, a light, at last a light!', Nov. ll-P. H. S.-St. Joe game. VVe won, natch! Nov. 25-29-Thanksgiving vacation. Dec. 16-Junior Class Elections. For the past week the Juniors have been weighted down with a variety of campaign buttons, stickers, and tags. It's all over now! Dec. g7-Bundle Day. No homework if you bring a bundle. Wish they'd have 'em more o ten! Dec. Q3-No school 'til next year.
