llITTSl IIiLlJ Illtan SKTIIUUI. l9t3 Baseball Team IQ43 When the Northern lierltshire Baseball League disbanded for the duration, the problem ol' forming schedules l'ell to the eoaehes. This task tloaeh Stewart sue- eeeded in performing, but not without dilliculty. Many of the teams cannot be reached beeanse of transportation dillieulty, and some sehools have given up the diamond sport for this season. Therefore, the number of games played this year will be but a fraetion of those played in former years. The eall for spring praeliee brought a large group of hopeful candidates. Al- though there are only four letter men remaining from the 1912 squad, there are many promising sophomores and juniors who are capable of filling the vaeaneies. Joe Boudreau, team eaptain, who has played well both in the lield and at the plate: Ben Morowski, lielder and pitcher: George Morrell, eateher: and Bill Freehotfer, third baseman, will be important factors in the success of the team because of their experience. With a dependable battery, a strong outlield and fair inlield, oul' team shows prospeets of developing into an ellieient and dangerous combine. But whether we have a good season ora bad one, we shall have the satisfaetion ol' knowing that our boys have at-quired a habit from this popular Ameriean pastime, an habit which our opponents from the Orient failed to aerluire from the game:-s To be a good winner and a graeeful loser. 11071
