Though they emerged from this hard campaign with but one victory registered, they may well be given a hand for their never die spirit. For the opening game the grid men journeyed to Greenfield. To its dismay, P. ll. S. encountered an aggressive group of players, and before the game ended, the foe had ehalked up 27 points to our nothing. The following Saturday, Tech of Springfield invaded Dorothy Deming Park and pounded its way to a 20-0 victory. Forgetting tl1e past and starting anew, our boys next took to the field against a more powerful eleven, Albany Academy. The outcome was a 13-0 P. H. S. set- back. On October 17, our warriors rnarehed against a favored Adams gridiron club and suffered a defeat of 32-0. The initial win of the season came the following week, after an inspiring rally by the student body and the faculty. The recorded score was P. li. S. 13, Drury of North Adams 7. Un home ground the next. Saturday, our eleven suffered its worst defeat. of the season. We were trouneed, to the tune of 50-12, by Poughkeepsie. Climaxing its seven game schedule, came a tilt. with St. Joe, in which P. ll. S. fought its foe to a scoreless tie. Though the season was not a glorious one for P. li. S., recognition should be given for outstanding play to Co-captains Fran Fields and La Forest Smith: to Bob Miller, Dick Anderson, Tom llieei, and Ted Oslund: and to the team as a whole for excellent sportsmanship. -f10ll-
