After the school'-wide elections last fall, the Junior Class found that they had elected the following officers: President .... . . Gwendelyn Bickford Vice-President. . . . . Vincent Riel Secretary ..... . . Ethlyn Morrell Treasurer ...... . . Janet Clark Student Council . . . . Carol Edwards and Kenneth Davis We began a very eventful year. Our newly elected class officers got together and drew up a plan for class government. They decided that an executive committee made up of the class officers, would elect all the committees for the yearg while a planning committee made up of students from the class would plan the calendar for the year. The class voted unanimous- ly for this plan. We had not been in school for more than two months before our class rings arrived. They were beautiful black onyx with a small sapphire on either side. We were all pleased and thrilled. In February came more exciting news. 'Sometime in November our Junior U. S. History teacher, Miss Dalton, had submitted a series of posters that our class had done, and we had won a prize from the Freedom Foundation. The prizes included a complete library of books, record- ings, moving pictures, and ah all expense trip for Miss Dalton and one Junior to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania for four days. Our Vice-President was the student chosen to take the trip to Valley Forge. In April we began work on the Junior Prom. We sent letters to different orchestras, and finally -- after much discussion decided on one that pleased everyone. Then decorations, ad- vertising, etc., tool: over the minds of most of the Junior Class. But, if you could have seen the auditorium the evening of May 16, 1952, you would have thought that it was worth it. The Seniors had a wonderful time, and from the appearance of all present, so did everyone else.
